We have been learning to form our letters correctly and to use capital letters in the correct place.

I am good at writing neatly.

I need to get better at making sure that my letters are the right size.

Greats and Grands day

Last week we had our Greats and Grands day. We wrote poems for our grandparents. Here is my poem about why my grandparents are so special.

Why grandparents are so special?

A grandparent is the parents of my parents. They are also an older version of your parents.Special means important and great.

Firstly my grandparents are special because they give me lots of hugs and lollies.

Secondly my grandparents live in a caravan and they travel around New Zealand.

Lastly my grandparents are special because they sometimes give me peaches for breakfast, for lunch I have chocolate sometimes and for dinner we have salad.

I got 60/60 for Stage 4 and 31/60 for Stage 5.

Garden to table

Each week at Garden to table we are either in the kichen cooking or in the gardening planting
watering or weeding .I like to  go in the garden to pull weeds out.

Multiplication and Division

We have been working on understanding multiplication and division. We are learning to read word
problems and answer them by showing our working and the answer we got.

Golf

On Thursday Mr golf came he taught us golf. He taught us to hit it high up in the sky. He taught us to hold the club correctly and go from a Y to and L with your arms. After that we played some challenges, who can get the furthest ball on the field. Piata and Cameron won. It was a tie. We only had one chance of hitting the ball. If we miss you don't get another chance. The challenge was fun.

Animal town

This week we have used another picture as motivation for our writing. We had a story starter and then we had to carry on the story.

What I like about my writing is it had lots of describing words.

I need to improve on writing more.

Here is my writing about Animal Town.

When I went to animal town I saw a crazy fluffy police chimpanzee sitting on a shiny bright blue chair. After I saw the chimpanzee I saw a giraffe who had a very long neck. After I saw the giraffe I saw a lazy black and white striped zebra walking across the road. After I saw a zebra I saw a funny looking bear with pointy ears in the van. Meerkats are a funny looking animal, when something goes wrong the Meerkat makes noises. The Meerkats are like an alarm. Animal town was so fun.

ASB Getwise

A few weeks ago Marlon from ASB Get wise talking to us about saving our money, spending money on needs not wants and using invisible money ie eftpos. I have made a google draw to show what I have learnt.

Balloon writing

This week we have used a picture as motivation for our writing. We had a story starter and then we
had to carry on the story. What I like about my writing is I put some good words in it.

I need to improve on writing more.

We also made a google draw showing the things that we would take with us in on the balloon.

We're going in the hot air balloon I took chips, doughnuts, yoghurt, a chilly bin, radio, chocolate milk, water, I took my Mum, Dad and brother with me. After when I packed all my food and Drinks we set off on the hot air balloon. It was fun in the sky it was very scary for me and my brother but it didn't scare us too much. When the sun set Me and my brother grabbed sleeping bags, my Mum and Dad drank some coffee so they can stay awake and steer the hot air balloon so we don't crash.

Pou

As part of our writing programme we have been doing environmental writing. We had to sketch an object and as we were sketching we wrote down thoughts that we had. Then we wrote our thoughts down  as a poem. We cut out the sketch and added this to our writing.

We have been working on using different art techniques to draw our faces. We have used sketching pencils to sketch our faces, making sure we made our facial features an accurate shape, size and putting them in the correct places.

We learnt about Picasso’s style and made our own funky Picasso portraits.

Swimming

We have been working towards becoming a confident swimmer by learning how to be a safe swimmer. We learnt that we should always swim with an adult and to always wear a life jacket when we are on a boat. At our swimming lessons we have learnt how to float, kick, glide and use rainbow arms and we are still learning to breathe correctly.
